Why we are heading for tribunal - Borno PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has explained why it is disputing the outcome of the April 26 governorship poll in Borno state.

Spokesperson for the PDP, Mohammed Kumalia, claimed the party was robbed of victory due to malpractices.

Kumalia alleged that the malpractices were carried out in connivance with INEC officials and security agencies.

According to Kumalia, the PDP’s candidate, Mohammed Goni, actually won the election with 450,000 lawful votes.

Kumalia said the PDP will therefore challenge the victory of the All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) governorship candidate, Kashim Shettima at the election tribunal.

Kumalia added that the party will also contest fourteen house of assembly seats already won by the ANPP.
