Uzbekistan Seeking Investment for Cotton Industry

The Third International Cotton Fair and the Fourth International Conference on Cotton and Textiles will be held in Tashkent on September 10 to 12. The events are being organised by the Uzbek government in cooperation with the International Cotton Advisory Committee and Cotton Outlook magazine.

All raw cotton in Uzbekistan is sold to the state and the government is looking to attract industry investment and new international customers.

Uzbekistan is the world’s fourth largest producer and second largest exporter of cotton, reaping harvests worth 1.5 billion US dollars and supplying global markets with more than 800,000 tonnes every year.
