US envoy thanks NYSC for election role

American Ambassador to Nigeria, Terence Macaulay, has commended the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) for contributing to the success of the April polls.

Macaulay however regretted the death of some of the youth corps members.

He expressed his condolence during a visit to NYSC’s Director-General, Brigadier Maharazu Tsiga.

Macaulay also urged NYSC to partner with the American government in order to strengthen existing relations between America and Nigeria.

The American Ambassador added that Nigerians should ensure that rural dwellers benefit from Nigeria’s democracy.
