Ukraine Election: Parties of President, Premier in Lead
With 33.18 per cent of the votes counted in the Ukrainian parliamentary election, Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk’s party is just ahead of President Petro Poroshenko’s.
Central Election Commission show that the People’s Front currently has 21.57 of the vote, and the Petro Poroshenko Bloc has 21.54 per cent.
The other parties that will make it into the Supreme Council are Samopomich with 10.85 per cent, the Opposition Bloc with 10.85 per cent , the Radical Party of Oleh Lyashko with 7.47 per cent, and Batkyvschina with 5.77 per cent.
The Svoboda party is close to the threshold at 4.63 per cent. Parties that will not make it into the new parliament include the Communist Party of Ukraine with 3.93 per cent, Anatoly Hritsenko’s Civic Position at 3.16 per cent, Serhiy Tihipko’s Strong Ukraine at 3.14 per cent and Dmitry Yarosh’s Right Sector with 1.83 per cent.
