The United Kingdom has called on NATO to send more troops to Afghanistan. Britain’s defence ministry, which is to take over command of NATO troops in Afghanistan, called on alliance members to deploy more forces in the southern provinces of the country to improve security there. Britain will deploy 5,700 troops to the country this year, and the Netherlands has approved 1,400 more troops for Afghanistan.
