Al-Iraq al-Yom is a weekly newspaper issued by Isra Shakir.

Naser al-Saidi, a candidate with the United Iraqi Alliance, affirmed that the alliance would ally with the Kurdish bloc and the Iraqi Accord Front to form a national unity government. He added that there was a minimal possibility that the UIA would align with former prime minister Ayad Allawi's coalition because there are deep rifts between them regarding their ideologies and having the Ba'athists in power.
