Talabani (Representative) Addresses the Arab Summit

Al Ittihad is published daily by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

On behalf of president Jalal Talabani, foreign minister Hoshiar Zebari addressed the Arab Summit about the role of the Arab states and the Arab League in enhancing peace, stability and progress in Iraq. Talabani (through his representative) affirmed that Iraq is confronting terrorism on behalf of the entire world and especially on behalf of the Arab and neighbouring states. He added that Iraq has the right to ask Arab leaders to help dry up the resources of the terrorists and encouraged them to send their diplomatic missions to Iraq. He reminded them that Iraq has beaten the sectarian conflict following the Samarra shrines bombing, which aimed to ignite a civil war.
