Syria and Qatar to Produce Fertilisers

Syria and Qatar have agreed to establish a 500 million US dollar joint venture project to produce ammonia and urea fertilisers in the Syrian city of Dir Ezzor. Production capacity is expected to reach 600,000 tonnes, the SANA news agency reported on February 11.

The agreement came following talks between Syrian industry minister Fouad Issa Joni and Qatari energy and industry minister Abdullah al-Attiya at the headquarters of the Qatar Petroleum Company in Doha.
