A rocket landed in Kabul’s 16th district on the night of January 17, but caused no casualties, officials said. General Mahboob Amiri, head of the Quick Reaction Force of the Afghan interior ministry, said the rocket was fired by unidentified forces at 9:15 pm and landed near a mosque in the Qala-e-Zaman Khan area of Kabul. According to the press office of the interior ministry, the rocket was fired from the Khurd-Kabul district, some 20 kilometres south-east of the capital. No one has been arrested so far.
