Roadside bomb blast leaves four Canadian soldiers dead

Four Canadian soldiers were killed on April 22 when their convoy hit a roadside bomb in the southern province of Kandahar, officials said. According to a spokesperson for the Canadian troops based in the province, the attack occurred in the Shah Wali Kot district, 75 kilometres north of the provincial capital. There are approximately 2,200 Canadian soldiers deployed in Afghanistan serving as part of NATO peacekeeping forces.
