Police arrest two robbers in Zabul

Afghan police captured two armed robbers in an operation in the Zafarkhil area of the southern province of Zabul on May 17, officials said. The provincial police chief said the operation followed an armed attack – with robbery as the motive – on a civilian convoy on the Kabul-Kandahar highway, which resulted in two vehicles being set on fire. The Taleban claimed responsibility for the attack, claiming six vehicles were torched.
