No revenge killings over violence

By IWPR Nigeria

Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers, has assured that there will be no revenge killings, in eastern Nigeria, over post-election violence in the north.

According to Igwe Alex Nwokedi, the council is more interested in the trial of those responsible for the bloody riots.

Nwokedi welcomed monetary compensation for families of slain youth corps members, but added that more should be done.

“Money is not the whole issue; the issue is that those who perpetrated those evils should be brought to justice”, said Igwe Nwokedi.
