Nine Taleban killed in Uruzgan clash

Coalition and Afghan forces killed nine Taleban insurgents and arrested six more on December 6, in an offensive carried out in the southern province of Uruzgan, the provincial governor said. “Today the Coalition, Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police carried out an offensive operation against the Taleban base in Charchino district and killed nine militants and arrested six,” said governor Jan Mohammad Khan. Taleban spokesman Qari Yousuf confirmed the operation, but said Taleban fighters had attacked Coalition and Afghan forces first, using rockets to destroy a US vehicle and kill four American soldiers.
