New US Envoy to Tashkent

Richard Norland is tipped to become the new United States ambassador to Uzbekistan. The official announcement is expected shortly. Norland, who will replace John Purnell, is currently deputy head of mission in Kabul, and formerly served as director of the National Security Council and deputy head of the mission in Latvia.
