A remote-controlled mine exploded near a vehicle carrying two Indian citizens in the Kama district of the eastern province of Nangarhar on December 5. There were no casualties. Mohammad Daoud Shahid, the administrative head of Kama district, confirmed the incident, noting, “The mine exploded few minutes after a US military convoy crossed the site.” Shahid said no arrests have been in connection with the incident, but an investigation has been launched.
