Militants kill driver in Helmand

Hewad is a state-run daily published mostly in Pashto.

Unidentified militants shot and killed a driver working for the Women’s Affairs Department [regional branch of the women’s affairs ministry] in the southern province of Helmand on May 9. Haji Mahiuddin, spokesman for the provincial governor, said Toryalai was gunned down near his office while taking some children to computer classes at the Women’s Affairs Department. The killers escaped.
