Militants attack police in Helmand

Hewad is a state-run daily published mostly in Pashto.

Taleban militants attacked a security post in the Marja district of the southern province of Helmand on the night of February 20, officials said. Provincial deputy police chief Mohammad Ayoub said that the enemies of peace attacked a security post in the Saiqan area and a one-hour gun battle ensued. The official added that the attackers were defeated and the police suffered no casualties.
