Judges Approve Release of Milosevic Documents

(TU No 455, 2-Jun-06)

The British lawyers assigned by the tribunal to assist the former Yugoslav president with his defence case have argued that it was his wish, and that of his son Marko, that the documents should be made public. The material apparently includes medical reports and court documents.

The lawyers' efforts to have the confidentiality measures lifted began several weeks ago, shortly after Milosevic died. Approval was finally given on June 1, the day after the tribunal published the results of its own internal inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.
