Members of the official press corps have met Syrian vice-president Farouk al-Shara to demand a list of words that are either allowed or prohibited for use in their reporting. The All For Syria Website reported on March 26 that journalists working with the Syrian government were confused about which terms were banned and which were not.

They also took the opportunity to complain about low wages and longing work hours, and to accuse the government of preferring to give news and interviews to foreign journalists.

All For Syria reported that there are few highly talented journalists in the official media because of the level of state control and the lack of professional standards.
