Al-Sabah al-Jadeed is an independent daily paper.

Iraqi president Jalal Talbani said prime minister Ibrahim al-Ja'afari would go to Saudi Arabia on November 29 to talk with high-ranking Saudi officials about improving bilateral relations. In a press conference after his meeting with the US ambassador, Talabani said Ja'afari might not attend the Islamic conference in Saudi Arabia this week. Saudi Arabia had invited him to attend that conference.
