Al-Iraq al-Yoom is a weekly newspaper issued by Isra Shakir.

Prime minister Ibrahim al-Ja'afari met with the ambassadors of France, Germany and Britain, who requested that Iraq send a message to Iran that it must take care of its nuclear crisis with the European Union. (The EU and other bodies, including the United Nations, are demanding that UN nuclear inspectors inspect Iranian facilities.) Ja'afari said negotiations are underway between the United Iraqi Alliance (the leading coalition in parliament) and the other slates regarding forming the new government in line with the constitution. He added that the alliance is the most suitable choice to nominate the new prime minister. The ambassadors thanked Iraq for its efforts and expressed hope that Iran would suspend its nuclear activities to solve the issue peacefully.
