Human Rights Minister Opposes Death Penalty

Kurdistani Nwe is a political daily issued by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

The Kurdistan Regional Government's Minister of Human Rights, Shwan Muhammed Aziz, criticised the September 11 decision by the Kurdish parliament to reinstate capital punishment. "We oppose this decision. We will try to change this decision in a legal manner. This is to avoid distorting the civil and democratic image of Kurdistan that it gained throughout the past years."
