Unidentified armed men shot and killed a leading mujahedin commander and former governor of the central province of Ghazni on March 18. Taj Mohammad, known as Qari Baba, and his four bodyguards were on their way to the provincial capital when they were ambushed by unidentified rebels, said Haji Habibullah Jan, a senior provincial official. Security officials said that they have launched an investigation into the case.
