Foreign Ministry Denies Zeebari Targeted

Al-Mada is issued daily by Al-Mada Institution for Media, Culture and Arts.

The foreign affairs ministry has denied that minister Hoshiaar Zeebari escaped an assassination attempt. The ministry announced in a press release that three of Zeebari's bodyguards were killed by a roadside bomb in Hemreen area, south of Baghdad. The ministry affirmed that Zeebari was in Baghdad when the incident took place. Separately, the ministry announced that the Iranian foreign minister has postponed his visit to Baghdad until the new government is formed.
