Eight Taleban killed, six captured in Helmand

Outlook is an independent daily published in English.

Eight Taleban fighters were killed and six more arrested in a fierce clash that erupted in the Sangin district of the southern province of Helmand on March 25. General Rahmatullah Raufi, commander of the 205 Atal military corps in the southern Afghanistan, said that the deaths occurred during a joint operation by Afghan and US forces. Provincial police chief Abdul Rahman Sabir said that houses which were targeted by helicopters had been used by insurgents.
