Al-Mashriq is published daily by Al-Mashriq Institution for Media and Cultural Investments.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki accused some neighboring states - without naming them - of being dictatorships that deny the extension of freedom and democracy to their people. He urged them to stop interfering in Iraq and concentrate on their own affairs. Maliki also said they should end their support for terrorism, as Iraq would no longer keep quiet about this. He maintained that they were little different to Saddam's dictatorship.
