Police officials in the south-eastern province of Khost said unidentified armed men crossed into Pakistan after attacking a border post on the night of February 4. Provincial police chief Mohammad Ayoub said the Babrak check post came under attack and the ensuing exchange of fire continued for about 15 minutes, after which the attackers crossed into Pakistan. Afghan officials believe such assailants hide out in Pakistan and are getting support in that country.
