The body of an Indian telecommunications engineer, who was killed in southern Afghanistan by Taleban rebels, was sent home on May 1, an official said. After a brief ceremony at Kabul international airport, about 10 Indian soldiers carried the coffin of K. Suryanarayan onto an Air India jet that then took off on a scheduled flight for New Delhi. A senior Afghan government official laid a floral wreath on the casket, which was draped in an Indian flag.
