Blaskic To Receive Judgement On March 3

Seven months after the conclusion of his trial, former Croatian Defence Council (HVO) commander, Tihomir Blaskic will hear his fate later this week.

Blaskic's trial ended in July 1999. He stands accused of crimes committed against Bosniaks in central Bosnia by HVO forces under his command.

The deliberation of the judgement, which presiding judge Claude Jorda has described on several occasions as "important" and requiring "close consideration", has lasted a full seven months.
