Bauchi: Ballot-snatching reported

There were incidents of ballot-snatching in Bauchi state during Thursday's governorship election.

Reports also said there were fewer security personnel on the streets contrary to expectation that many would be around to keep law and order.

A local observer said the presence of multiple party agents, was equally noticed, contrary to electoral regulations that only allow for one party agent per polling unit.

The turn-out of voters was reported to be low.

Governorship and state assembly elections in the state could not hold earlier, due to the violence that followed the presidential election.
