Bamian women rewarded for contribution

Eight Afghan women have been awarded the title of Meritorious Woman of the Year for their contribution to social, cultural and political affairs in the central province of Bamian. The head of the provincial women affairs department, Fatema Kazemyan, said that the women were awarded the title to mark March 8 (International Women’s Day) for their hard work to improve people’s living conditions. Addressing a conference at the provincial university, Kazemyan said, “These women have proven their merit through their hard work.”
