Arson attack on Kunar school

Unidentified armed men set a girls’ secondary school on fire in the Khaskunar district of the eastern province of Kunar on the night of March 27. Provincial police chief Abdul Ghafar confirmed the incident, blaming the enemies of education for the attack. Around 1,200 students attended the school.The school’s building and study materials were destroyed in the fire, he added. It is the first girls’ school to be burned down in this province. Over the past year, more than 40 schools have been burned down across the country.
