Twenty-three Iraqis were killed and 30 others wounded in several attacks (on Wednesday,) while 48 corpses were discovered in different parts of Baghdad. A source at the Iraqi interior ministry, speaking on condition of anonymity, said a suicide bomber wearing a belt with explosives blew himself up among police recruits in Fallujah, killing15 and wounding 30. Iraqi police confirmed that eight other Iraqis were killed as well, including two officers in Baghdad and Ba'quba. The source also said 20 unidentified corpses were discovered in the Shuala, Sadr city, Zafaraniya, and Diyala Bridge areas of Baghdad, and 14 corpses found near al-Muthanna Bridge east of Baghdad. All of the bodies had gunshot wounds to the head and chest and bore signs of torture. A fake checkpoint set by insurgents stopped a mini bus carrying al-Mamoon College students. They pulled four of the students out of the vehicle and shot them dead, the source said.
