Presidential spokesman Mohammad Karim Rahimi has insisted that the intelligence passed to the Islamabad government on the location of Taleban and other terrorists inside Pakistan - including the address of Taleban leader Mullah Omar - is correct and accurate. [Pakistan officials said in recent days that the Afghans’ information was “old”.]

Addressing a press conference in Kabul on March 7, spokesman Rahimi reiterated the Afghan government’s opposition to a [Pakistani] proposal to fence off the border between the two countries. Afghanistan’s objection is that such a barrier would separate communities living on either side of the frontier. Pakistan has accused Afghanistan of involvement in recent turmoil in Baluchistan province – an allegation rejected by both the Afghan government and Pakistani political analysts.
