An official spokesman of the high committee on bird flu in Iraq said Monday that one person has died from bird flu in Baghdad's al-Kamaliya district. A relative of the victim is being treated for bird flu-like symptoms. A test showed the victim died of the H5N1 strain of bird flu. Additional samples are being sent to Cairo to confirm the results. The health teams will take samples from the family and will slaughter poultry in the surrounding area.
