Karzai calls for investment in Afghanistan

Cheragh is an independent daily run by the Development and Democracy Association.

President Hamed Karzai on May 9 called on domestic and international businesses to invest in Afghanistan. Opening an investment conference in Kabul, Karzai said that investors could move into various areas including construction and agriculture. The government, he said, would provide them with everything they needed to facilitate their investment. The four-day conference was attended by delegates representing 80 companies from 17 countries.
