Minister of agriculture Ali al-Bahadeli denied that there were any bird flu cases in Samarra and said that no migrant birds died on the outskirts of the city. He added that the ministry told residents of the villages not to hunt and eat birds for fear of the disease. The manager of Samarra's hospital denied that any bird flu cases existed in the city. He said that a report from a medical source that four suspected bird flu cases were sent to Baghdad was false. He affirmed that Samarra is completely free from the disease.
