Kidnapping of Women on the Rise

A strange new phenomenon has engulfed Iraqi society - the random abduction and killing of women, whose bodies are then dumped at waste sites and in rivers. A security source said that last week, 15 bodies of women aged between 16 and 35 were found in the street in various parts of Baghdad. The source said the problem had become greater since insurgents appeared on the streets of Baghdad. He said abductions of female students in Baghdad had reached record levels.
