Susanne Fischer reported for major German newspapers such as Der Spiegel and Süddeutsche Zeitung before joining IWPR in 2005. From her position as Country Director in Iraq, where she implemented the Women Media Initiative, she moved on to Beirut in 2008 as manager of IWPR’s Middle East program. Susanne has published three books, two of them on Iraq. Her next project, a work on the Arab Spring and the media, is due to come out in summer 2012.
