The opposition Damascus Declaration Committee in the United Kingdom will hold a session in Britain’s upper chamber, the House of Lords, on April 1 to discuss human rights in Syria and the country’s domestic and foreign policies.

This session will be chaired by Lord Nazir Ahmed, who has advocated for Syrian voices not connected to the regime to be heard, the Damascus Declaration opposition group reported.

Speakers will include Alan George, author of “Syria Without Bread and Freedom”; MP John Grogan; Muhyee Aldeen Al-Lathkani, secretary-general of the Syrian Democratic party; Suheer Alatassi from the National Council for the Damascus Declaration; and Anas Al-Abda from the Syrian opposition group the Moment for Justice and Development.
