Turkmenistan and China to Finalise Gas Pipeline Route
Turkmenistan agreed to supply China with 30 billion cubic metres of gas a year via the planned pipeline when the two countries’ presidents met in Beijing on July 17.
The 7,000 kilometre pipeline will probably go through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, both of which have formally confirmed their willingness to be part of the project.
Visiting Ashgabat on July 26, Uzbek foreign minister Vladimir Norov said “work on laying the Turkmenistan-China pipeline, which will pass through Uzbekistan, is in full swing”.
