Barazani: Kurdistan Not Part of American-Iranian Conflict

Al-Ittihad is published daily by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

Following his meeting with Iranian ambassador to Iraq Hassan Khadimi Qummi, the president of the Kurdistan region Masood Barazani said that Kurdistan is not part of the conflict between America and Iran. His comments follow news that the Americans recently arrested five Iranians in Erbil. Barzani added that Kurdistan was the only part of Iraq where neighbouring states do not interfere. He also insisted that the region's sovereignty was sacred.
