The Kurdish justice ministry has received a report by a special investigation committee into the suspicious death of a prisoner. The prisoner, Ismail Ahmed Hassan, who has been arrested because of alleged links to Ansar al-Islam, was found to have torture marks and signs of beatings. The investigative committee also discovered that Hassan had been detained without an order from a judge. The prisoner's family are taking legal action against the authorities over his death in custody.
