Russian Diplomat to Head OSCE in Tajikistan

Vladimir Pryakhin, a Russian diplomat and former OSCE ambassador to Armenia, has been made the OSCE ambassador to Tajikistan.

Observers say Pryakhin’s appointment reflects Moscow’s growing influence in the OSCE. urope. Russia is a major contributor to the organisation’s budget and pushes to get its own diplomats posted to senior positions in those member states it deems strategically important.
