Maliki Support for Threatened Campuses

Al-Ittihad is published daily by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has ordered the security forces to provide protection for universities amid growing threats from insurgents. In a statement posted on the government website, he urged students to ignore warnings by extremists that they intend to attack campuses. Maliki maintained that the universities would take their measures against absent students.
