Doctors can leave Iraq – if they post bail

Al-Mashriq is published daily by Al-Mashriq Institute for Media and Cultural Investments.

A source at the ministry of health says doctors have been granted permission to travel abroad – on condition that they lodge three million Iraqi dinars as a guarantee that they will return. In a separate development, the ministry has asked the authorities to allow doctors to carry weapons to defend themselves against threats and criminal gangs.
