New Cabinet Expected to Be Announced (Tuesday)

Al-Sabah al-Jadeed is an independent daily paper.

Leaders of political slates held a meeting on Saturday at the house of vice-president Adil Abdul-Mahdi, while incoming prime minister Noori al-Maliki said the new cabinet will be announced by Tuesday. Abdul-Mahdi said there were no disagreements over the new government, reporting that all of the political blocs should also agree on how to oppose the daily violence that is overwhelming different parts of Iraq. A statement issued by the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq said the meeting went smoothly.
