IWPR Kyrgyz Report Improves Local Healthcare
After IWPR reporter Jenish Aydarov highlighted the lack of maternity facilities in Zardaly, a village in the Batken region of southern Kyrgyzstan, the local authorities promised to provide proper medical care.
Aydarov interviewed Khaytali Aykynov, the head of health and welfare for Batken region, who said teams of medics were now paying regular visits to remote, thinly-populated villages like Zardaly.
