Prosecutor Calls for Death Penalty for Saddam

Al-Taakhi is issued daily by the Kurdistan Democratic Party.

Jafar al-Mosawi, prosecutor at the special criminal court, has asked the judge to sentence Saddam Hussein, his half-brother Barazan, and Taha Yaseen Ramada to death in the Dijail massacre case for which they are currently standing trial. The judge has suspended the trial until July 10. Saddam and seven associates are accused of killing 148 people in Dijail in 1982 after an attempt on the then president’s life.
