United Iraqi Alliance member Jawad al-Maliki said the coalition has begun intensive negotiations with the Iraqi Accord Front regarding the formation of the new government and containing the recent crises after the two shrines (in Samarra) were bombed. (The Shia United Iraqi Alliance, the leading bloc in parliament, has sparred with the majority Sunni Arab Iraqi Accord Front which withdrew from the negotiations following the sectarian violence in Baghdad and Samarra last week.) The coalition set an agenda that are similar to that of other blocs, such as eradicating corruption; confronting sectarianism and a fractured Iraq; providing public services; and eliminating terrorism by putting the anti-terrorism law into effect.
